Syrian Refugees featured in CBC Edmonton article

During this year's spring session, I had the honour to introduce the Elkureji family in the Legislature. As refugees from war-torn Syria, they have persevered through many hardships and tragedies to arrive safely here in Canada, where they are supported by a network of volunteers that includes individuals from my constituency of St. Albert.

Ahmed Elkureji recently told his story to CBC Edmonton. This young boy survived a rocket strike that took the lives of his mother and older brother, and is now embracing life in Edmonton with his family. Ahmed hopes to one day be a dentist, pharmacist, orengineer so that he can help people - and he also wants a bionic leg.
